A complete redesign of the HyperX balances tab brings your perpetual account summary, spot holdings, and fund transfer tools into a single, unified wallet view.

The Old Balances Tab Was Not Enough

When Hyperliquid launched spot trading alongside perpetuals, the on-chain portfolio became two portfolios. You have a perp account with equity, margin, and unrealized PnL. You have a spot account with token holdings at varying values. Both matter. Both affect your trading decisions. But viewing them in a way that actually helps you make those decisions has been harder than it should be.

The previous balances view on HyperX showed basic account information, but it did not reflect how traders actually think about their capital. You wanted to know your total portfolio value across both accounts. You wanted to see margin utilization at a glance. You wanted to move funds between perp and spot without navigating to a separate page. And when you held spot tokens, you wanted to see what they were worth and have a direct path to trade them.

We rebuilt the entire balances tab from scratch. The new design takes direct inspiration from Hyperliquid's own layout conventions while adding the context and tooling that a serious portfolio view demands.

Perp Account Summary: The Numbers That Matter

The top section of the redesigned balances tab is dedicated to your perpetual futures account. This is the information that perp traders check constantly, now displayed in a clean, scannable summary panel.

Account Equity is front and center — the total value of your perp account including unrealized PnL across all open positions. Next to it, Margin Used shows how much of your equity is currently locked as collateral. This number directly tells you how exposed you are. If margin used is approaching your total equity, you are running hot and need to be aware of liquidation risk.

Available Balance completes the picture. This is the capital you can deploy right now — open new positions, add margin to existing ones, or withdraw. The relationship between these three numbers is the fundamental health check for any perp trading account, and having all three visible without clicking or hovering keeps you oriented.

The summary updates in real time as positions move. When ETH rallies and your long gains value, equity ticks up and available balance increases with it. When a trade goes against you, you see the impact immediately.

Spot Holdings: Your Token Portfolio

Below the perp summary, the spot holdings section displays every token in your Hyperliquid spot account. Each row shows the coin icon, token name, quantity held, and current market value in USD. The presentation is compact and tabular, consistent with the pro terminal design language used throughout HyperX.

This is not just a static list. Each holding includes a Trade button that navigates directly to the trading terminal with that market selected. Holding HYPE and want to sell some? Click Trade and you are immediately in the HYPE spot market with the order entry ready. One click from balance to trade execution — no searching through the market selector.

Coin icons alongside each row provide quick visual scanning — when you hold a dozen different tokens, icons are faster to parse than reading ticker symbols.

Combined Total in the Wallet Selector

The wallet selector now displays a combined total that sums your perp account equity and the total value of all spot holdings. This single number answers the most basic question any trader has: what is my total portfolio worth right now?

Previously, getting a total portfolio value meant mentally adding your perp equity to your spot holdings value. The total appears in the wallet selector dropdown, so it is visible even before you open the full balances tab — a quick glance tells you where you stand without interrupting your workflow.

Fund Transfers: Deposit, Withdraw, Transfer

Trading across both perp and spot markets means capital needs to flow between them. The redesigned balances tab includes three primary action buttons: Deposit, Withdraw, and Transfer.

Transfer opens a dedicated dialog for moving funds between your perp and spot accounts. Select the direction (perp to spot or spot to perp), enter the amount, and confirm. The transfer executes through Hyperliquid's internal mechanism — fast, minimal fees, and funds available on the other side almost immediately. Quick-select buttons let you transfer 25%, 50%, or 100% of the available amount without typing.

Deposit handles bringing funds into your Hyperliquid account from external sources. For new users who have just connected their wallet, a prominent Deposit CTA appears in the balances view, providing a clear first step to get started. Rather than showing a wall of zeros, the empty state focuses attention on the single action that matters: getting funds in so you can start trading.

Withdraw lets you move funds out of your Hyperliquid account with balance checks and confirmation steps to prevent accidental over-withdrawal that could affect open positions.

Beyond perp-spot transfers, the view also supports wallet-to-wallet transfers — sending funds directly to another Hyperliquid address without leaving HyperX. Useful for teams managing multiple wallets, sub-accounts, or settling up with other traders.

Why This Redesign Matters

The balances tab is where trading sessions begin and end. It is where you check your capital before placing a trade, where you verify that a withdrawal went through, where you decide whether to allocate more to perp or spot. A balances view that requires mental arithmetic or page navigation to answer basic portfolio questions creates friction at the most fundamental level.

The Hyperliquid-style layout we adopted is deliberate. Hyperliquid's interface conventions are already familiar to the traders who use HyperX. By aligning our layout with those conventions, we reduce the cognitive gap between HyperX and the native Hyperliquid experience. Every element serves a specific purpose: the perp summary answers "how is my leveraged account doing," the spot holdings answer "what do I own," the combined total answers "what is my portfolio worth," and the action buttons answer "how do I move money." No decorative elements, no redundant information.
